1. EYES
Do not call a foul unless the whole act has been observed
if you think you saw it- it is not a foul: if you saw it it is a foul
2. Ears
Be tuned in to what is going on and monitor
Listen to what the participants are talking about
may help to avert trouble down the road
3. Mouth
Build a rapport with the athletes and coaches
under NO circumstances should you fraternize, criticize, coach, or threaten any athlete or coach
Always remember the words from Peter Principle by Laurence J Peter
"Speak when you are angry, and you'll make the best speech you'll ever regret"
4. Arms
Make the signals you need to inform those around you of the call you are making
Have ways to communicate to other officials that you are working with
5. Legs
Use you legs to make sure you can always get to a position to make the call that you need to
If marking get to the mark as quickly as possible after you observe where the mark is
6. Brain
Use all your senses to process the call you are about to make
